To get the most out of your SkyShowtime streaming experience, we recommend a minimum speed of 5.5 Mbps.
Test your internet speed to ensure it meets the recommended minimum.
Here are a few tips that may help improve your internet speed.
-
Get closer to your router
Try moving closer to your router to strengthen the signal. If you're experiencing performance issues while connecting to the internet, it's generally a good idea to be near the router. In places where you're encountering slow speeds or connectivity problems, adding a range extender could be beneficial. Consider using a signal booster or extender to improve your Wi-Fi network's coverage throughout your home.
-
Switch to a stronger Wi-Fi channel
Selecting the proper Wi-Fi channel can significantly improve your Wi-Fi coverage and performance. For example, consider switching to 5GHz Wi-Fi, if it's available, which provides an extended range.
-
Switch the network from Wi-Fi to mobile data
You can try connecting to your mobile data network instead. Consider data usage when using mobile data. Refer to the official guides for managing cellular connections:
-
Restart your router
Rebooting your router can resolve temporary glitches, free up memory, complete any firmware updates, and refresh your connection. To manually reboot your router, unplug it from the power source, wait 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
-
Disconnect other devices
If other devices are connected to your network – especially if they're using a lot of bandwidth – disconnecting them may improve your download speed. Download speeds can slow down as more devices share an internet connection. Also, try closing unnecessary apps and programs and see if that helps.
